Binfield
Binfield on the north-western edge of Bracknell is in the Bracknell Forest area of Berkshire… just two and a half miles north of Bracknell station.
There are several pubs in Binfield…Jack O’Newbury, The Royal Standard, The Stag & Hounds, The Victoria Inn, and The Warren House Inn. The oldest inn in Binfield is the Stag & Hounds, parts of which were built in the 14th Century.
There is also a chemist, doctor’s surgery, art shop, a number of takeaways and restaurants, and a number of hair salons.
There are three parks… Jubilee Fields, Pope’s meadow, and Parish Fields – although the last one is actually in the grounds of the local primary school.
Binfield’s favourite son was Alexander Pope, the famous writer – who was raised at Pope’s Manor, and sang in the church choir. It is here that he penned many of his early poems, and spoke fondly of his father’s house.
